Public Talks & Presentations

For Camera Clubs, Community Groups & Photographic societies

I am available as a speaker for camera clubs, photographic societies, events, charities, and intimate gatherings throughout the UK.

I talk with great passion and depth about my life and the events that have led me to this place where I am now creating photographs and telling stories to the world. I am an open book and I wear my heart on my sleeve, so you can guarantee some level of emotional connection as an audience.

I have delivered talks online, notably to members of the Royal Photographic Society about my zine ‘A Year Amongst Trees’, and in person, notably in front of an audience of 200 people in Theatr Hafren in Newtown, Powys.

I have also been attending schools and colleges to talk about my work and share some of the deeper parts of my creative practice to aid with the development of the students.

The talks I offer:

  • Finding Light - A Journey into Nature to Find My Soul

  • Learning to See Again Through Nature Photography (coming 2025)

You can watch a section of ‘Finding Light’ from a recent talk that was recorded and posted to YouTube. The link for that is at the bottom of this page.

Photography Workshops

for camera Clubs and Photographic Societies

I also offer my services as a tutor, offering practical photography sessions and workshops for camera clubs and photographic societies.

My workshops offer an insight into my creative process which involves plenty of thought, conversation and an exploration of the inner landscape, as well as that of the outer one.

I believe that a photograph is most interesting when it gives an insight into the artists soul and through my workshop days, I aim to inspire attendees to express themselves, play, and experiment through the art of photography.

The camera is a tool for self-discovery and expression, more than anything, and can lead to immense personal and spiritual growth.

Workshop days do have some structure to them, but are not fixed to a rigid schedule. I like to have some fun and encourage freedom, but there are always some tasks and challenges set that attendees seem to take plenty from.

Workshop days normally last around six hours, although, depending on levels of enthusiasm and numbers of questions, they can go on for seven, even eight hours sometimes. The day begins with a discussion around my approach to photography, what to expect from the day and what each person is hoping to gain, and then it ends with a reflection period, during which I encourage people to think about what they have taken from our time together, and wish to carry forwards in their own art.

What Attendees Have to Say:

We welcomed Brad to our club in Melton Mowbray.Brad’s presentation took us through his photographic journey and shared how photography and especially photographing the natural world has helped him heal and understand himself better. His stunning images were interspersed with his writings, which gave meaning to his images and made for a well constructed, inspiring and different presentation that all members present enjoyed.

On Saturday, a small group of us were lucky to join Brad on a workshop where we were able to witness his process first hand. We were encouraged to slow down and really observe our surroundings. To connect to how we were feeling and to spot scenes that depict that, or more usually, spot scenes that pleased us and explore why that may be. That was supported with guidance on how to frame scenes, taking into consideration changing light and the surroundings.

It was wonderful to observe Brad’s process, especially in an area he was unfamiliar with. Everyone who attended the workshop learned a lot,

Definitely recommended both as a speaker and for workshops.

Brad came to give our local community group an interactive talk about his photography, writing and personal journey into nature, and it was a wonderfully rich and reflective experience. His photography is outstanding, but more than this, he brings with him a generous and open attitude that made the event feel very special.
